Is World Peace possible?

I have heard since I was a little boy that people wish for world peace. Will it ever be possible with countries like North Korea threatening nuclear war? Scares the crap out of me thinking one day I could just look up at the sky and be dust.

Honestly I do not think there can be world peace. There is always that one person who wants to mess it up. Humans by nature at violent people, nothing will change that. In some, power is everything and they will do anything to have that power. World Peace is something people wish for, but unfortunately, it won't happen. You will always have your Napoleon's, Hitler's, Saddam's, etc.

People can't even get along with members of their own family, how does anyone think the masses can get along long enough for world peace...it's unattainable.

In one word; no.

Haha, we can only hope that the leaders of the world one day will not be so inclined to act before they have really thought about the trickle effect on the decisions they make. I still think it is possible.

No, I don't think it is possible. Some people just can't get along with people that are different than them.

World peace will only be possible the day complexed life forms, possibly all life itself, goes extinct. Humans will never be peaceful because a good majority of us are complete and utter jackasses who want nothing more than to cause problems or find propblems.

Sure it's "possible", but not very likely because no matter what happens, there will always be someone not willing to cooperate with others. Some will not want to sacrifice for the good of all. In short,....There will ALWAYS be a problem. Greed, drugs, money,.....You can go on and on and on with reasons why. Plus, there are so many different religions and beliefs and ways of living that do not comply with someone elses ways of doing things.

Completly agree though, as humans we can't 100% agree with everybody all of the time and so there will always be problems.

Obama really screwed up the Oil industry here in Houston. He put the oil drilling on hold so alot of people in the Gulf are going to be without jobs. Really sucks that he made such a quick decision without thinking it out.

Yeah it's been on the news a lot about the oil spill, but that bit wasn't reported.

I think how he handled the whole situation was very poor and made him more unpopular to Americans.

I will give you an possibility of how World Peace and ONLY and ONLY happen. If one country or one continent takes over the World and they put their laws and what they want to do, then like that it will only be World Peace but that means World War III must happen for that to happen.

That is the ONLY WAY! There is no other way so don't bullshit yourself people!

It's never possible and here's the common sense reason why:

So many wars in the past have resulted due to indifference in religion. Sometimes it's over land but a lot of times Religion plays a major factor in wars, whether direct or indirect. People will always look to a greater being or belief as a sense of reason and thus there will always be religion, and due to there always being religion there will always be war and never world peace.

Ever heard of Civil War? Even if one dominant country or continent were to take over the world eventually the people within that country will feel different about the rules of that country, and they'll rebel when their demands aren't met. There will always be war. It's sad because its something we hate to see but know will always exist.

World Peace is an ideal of mong and within all nations and/or people. World peace is an idea of planetary by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that prevents warfare. Although the term ias sometimes used to refer to a cessation of all hostility among all individuals, world peace.
