Who will go first overall to Carolina?

With a the NFL this coming Thursday, it's about time to look at the prospects I guess, even with the lockout. With past drafts number one picks agreeing to terms before draft day, this years draft will be more suspenseful with the Carolina Panthers first overall pick. I can't imagine how fun the draft environment will be with the current situation.

Do the Panthers go for the best offensive or defensive player in the draft? And if they need a specific position more than another, with needs being at QB, WR, D-line, and pretty much anyone player they can build around.

To most people it will come down to Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert as they have the best pure value in the draft and would be tough to pass up for the future. Also guys like A.J. Green, Marcel Dareus, and Patrick Peterson are top athletes in this draft with a chance at landing the top spot.

Who would all of you guys take if you were in Carolina's shoes and what is most important for you in this draft?

I'm sure Carolina will take Newton, but I think Gabbert will be the better choice. He is a true pocket quarterback and the mobile quarterbacks show to have shorter careers because of the tear on their legs.
