Whats the your favorite genre of game?

When it comes to gaming many people are separted by the type of game they like to play whether it be sports, fantasy, shooters, RPG, and other types of games.

When I buy a game I always consider how long I'll actually play this game. Some genres like RPG's, shooters, and action games tend to have short campaign's with limited multiplayer, so the game will just go on the shelf pretty quickly.

My go-to is the sports games, currently NBA 2K11, as there are different types of games like association mode, My player, and mini games. You can always play with a group of people, and then play by yourself with your own created player in the NBA or playing as a franchise in the NBA.

All different sports like the MLB, NFL, NHL, and college sports offer all of these same features. Sports games to me are more worth the value as you can play one game for years.

Shooters like Call of Duty are also addictive with the online multiplayer feature that has taken over gaming. Often times these games campaigns are short because the creators focused more on the evolution of online play. Like the concept of My player in sports games, these shooters use and allow you to play against millions all over the world.

so, whats you type favorite type of genre and what do you look for in your games?

I have always loved the "RPG" genre, but now that I have a kid I do not have time for them. I still chose "RPG" for the poll, but lately I have been playing shooters online, because the are like a quick pick-up game that I can stop playing if little man starts crying.
