What "Sports" shouldn't be considered a sport?

I've heard a lot people argue that golf isn't a sport because it's too boring. I happen to disagree. The only "sport" that I can think of that shouldn't be called a "sport" would have to be competitive eating, I just think that's crazy.

golf isn't a sport, neither is competitive eating and if anyone tries to say NASCAR is a sport - they just need to GTFO right now.

I mean, seriously, would you call John Daly an athlete....

I rest my case. lol

oh, and just because Tiger used HGH & looks like he could potentially play other sports if it wasn't for his ***** demeanor doesn't mean golf as a whole is a sport.

If anything shouldn't be considered a sport, it has to be NASCAR....

Maybe this isn't exactly on topic, but the OP reminded me to rant about thist.

Are people not concerned about how commercialised and sucked into the entertainment industry sports are becoming? This whole ordeal with Lebron going on tv (completely arrogant and unnecessary) and needing an hour long show to tell the world his decision has made it clear that sports are becoming to consumed by the idea of personality, and the nba is becoming more and more about entertainment than actually the sport itself.

I disagree with you there, everyone who plays tennis has to be in shape. It involves lots of movement like any other sport also. It's like saying volleyball is not a sport.

For me I'd say the following aren't sports.

Nascar
Golf
Cheerleading

I think people get activities and sports mixed up at times.

tennis is definitely a sport, dude. you probably think it isn't because you've only played with guys who suck ass. you know, those disgraces to the sport who play in ****in sandles and who can't even hit the ball over the net consistently. when you're playing it at a high level, it's one of the most intense activities imaginable. I played varsity in high school for a few years, and there's guys hitting the ball at literally 100 MPH while you're standing just a few feet away from them. it was ****in crazy when we played against the desert schools where all they ever knew was tennis and golf.

I don't see a problem with Golf being a sport.

However, Nascar, Spelling Bee, Competitive Eating, and Poker are not sports.

Spelling Bee. I saw an ESPN show on it once and I could not believe how serious they took it.

In my opinion, any sport that leaves negative impacts on the minds of the people (that can be any) from the perspectives of sports articles and sport magazine should not be considered a sport. Because, I think, people watch sports for entertainment.
