Well I started in Center, eventually went to right, didn't do great and moved back to center, eventually moved to Left and have been playing there.

I played 3B and pitcher last year on JV, but a couple of outfield starting spots are opening up on Varsity and the infield is pretty much set so I'll probably move to the outfield. Which is fine by me, I like it out there and honestly think I'm better suited to play outfield.

I played a lot of 2B and 3B, but once my coach wanted to let the rookies have a chance in the infield, so he moved me to LF where I made a diving catch, and I ended up playing outfield from then on. I ended up loving it. Nothing like diving for a fly ball.

Yup, today in our rained out game a lefty hit a fly ball to me in left field, got a bad read on it so I took 2-3 steps in then had to go back to my right and had to end up diving for the ball, having it tip off of the end of my glove and missing it. I love the feeling of diving, even if you don't come up with it. A few games ago we were up 10-5 and they had runners on 2nd and 3rd, and with 2 outs and them being down to their last out, I was thinking "Hm, I've never made the play for the last out in a game", and like a few minutes later while I'm in rightfield the batter hits a liner right to me, thought it was going to be right at me but realized I was wrong, so then I had to sprint in and make the diving catch to end the game, also went 3-3 with 2 2B's, a 3B, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored, and also had an OF assist in the game. Today went 1-1 with a 2B in my only at bat before the rain came in. |

I was pretty much a 2nd baseman my entire life, that's been my primary place.

In high school I'm a middle infielder, usually short, and pitch the odd game here and there.
In regular ball I play short, centre field, and catch. |

I could play every position. When I played on a team, I always played 3rd and 1st.

For school I'm mainly a third baseman with some time spent at second.
For town ball I just stayed at shortstop mainly. |

I was a RF'er who could never hit a lick until we allowed pitchers in Little League. I still couldn't hit a lick, making contact with the baseball a grand total of once, but I switched positions when we were allowed to pitch. I was a right-handed pitcher, and I was a significantly better pitcher than I was a hitter. I threw a four-seam fastball and a palmball, plus a slurve right near the end (I always called it a "curve," but I realize that what I threw was a slurve). Then, just before the Babe Ruth League season started, my CNS disorder started acting up, and I've not played anything more than a scrimmage ever since.

I've sucked at hitting my whole life... Little League , Summer Ball, and High School...
I was also sucking in my beerleague team... But I have managed to turn things around... I read the book Moneyball and that chapter with Scott Hatterberg really cleared things up for me... It gave me a new perspective on hitting... I am no natural athlete... Ima Hatterberg I have to use some intelligence to be able to play... Since i read that chapter I started to change my approach at the plate... I really analyzed what i was doing... And found out why i sucked... My timing was jacked up... Haha... I just had to get my front foot down earlier... Bahaha...LMFAO... I know its lame but its true... Now Im hitting bombs and linedrives all over the place... Ive always had the build to do it just was never able cause of stupid timing.... LOL... Dalkowski's post got me going... sorry... |
