War on Terror

With President Obama coming into office, he faces one of the hardest situations a president has ever had to step into. During the presidency of George Bush, the nation plummeted into trillions of dollars in debt and had gone to war, as well as deploying troops to all areas of interest or had a connection with the attacks on 9/11. Obama although had promised during his campaign to make many drastic changes and withdraw troops from war zones, he has not been able to truly execute his plan.

With the Patriot act and all of the power the government has, they should be able to prevent any major action from within the country. Although, many believe (me included) that there could be more to the story behind 9/11 and what actually happened. Handfuls of solid evidence suspect that the government had a part in the attack on the World Trade Centers in some way. If this is true, then the whole war on terror is a cover up to the true conflicts and reasons behind what happened

However, even though troops are suppose to now be withdrawn, troops are still being sent to Iraq constantly as well as around the world to Afghanistan, Libya, Korea, and other locations of interest. The only way the country will be able to hold down the war on terror is keep the suspected groups under close watch in order to spot any suspicion of activity. It will be impossible to shut these groups down, even though we torture captured members and get crucial information. There is too much we can’t find out and putting the lives of Americans in danger to try and reach this goal of taking out terrorism, because we simply do not have time and enough lives to risk.
