Richard Branson - Virgin Group records

Sir Richard Nicholas Branson, an English Industrialist, famous for his virgin chain of 360 companies was born 18 July 1950. He ventured his very first business streak when he was just 16 by publishing a magazine “student” which was followed by an audio record mail-order business in 1970. Soon he was able to chain his record stores commonly known as Virgin Megastores; the reassembling by new brands named them “Zaavi” in 2007.

His unfailing efforts lead him to find Virgin Atlantic Airways which flourished the Virgin Records Music. The latest Forbes’ rank him to be 261st wealthiest person to possess £1.5 billion. He did not stop his voyage of discovery and business marathon.

When he crossed the English Channel he ventured into first record business as he obtained “cut-out” records at discount and sold them to stores in London. He made a record business in sending down mail-orders to the various record stores. One of his earliest employees suggested name “Virgin” for the company because the business was totally a newest kind.

Initially they had to sell out various products at strict discounts and cheap prices. The business flourished like fire and made him successful. In 1950s to 1960s the record music was to be conceded under strict marketing agreements i-e resale price discount. He, then, founded a record shop in Oxford Street and gradually started Virgin Records with Nik Powel that helped him buy a country Estate where he founded a recording Studio that helped a new creed of singers to seek career.

Virgin’s very first music rlease was Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, after that Sex Pistols, Faust and Can all the diverse genre bands found fame with the company. He also ventured to buy three ITV channels but was not much successful. In 1992 he sold out record music label “Virign” to Emi to secure his airline company but was deeply hurt to have sold out the parent company that had helped him build Virgin Empire.

Branson's business is owned by a series of offshore companies. When virgin mobile got launched in Canada the "naughty nurses" triggered The Registered Nurses Association for an apology. Virgin Mobile had "super hot holiday" paper with the issue of a youth magazine which contained holiday angels, where the female's breast was touching the male angel and the female had her hand on the man’s genitals.

Various airlines of the world such as Nigerian, Belgian, American and many other were named Virgin to have bought by him. He was also successful in venturing in Railway business and had triumphantly founded Virgin Cola and Virgin Vodka. Virgin Galactic was also founded by him to take the payers to orbital space. His new invention is to provide the world cheap fuel i-e “Virgin Fuel” to reduce the impact of global warming. He has not stopped his successful adventure of Virgin group of companies here but he is on a go.
