[size=4]Game Thread: Redsox at Philadelphia (6/12-6/14)[/size]



Coming into the series: The Redsox are coming into the series red hot after sweeping the Yankees and taking a 2 game lead in the A.L. East race. The Phillies are coming off a successful road stand that dates back to the beginning of the month. They went 7-3 on that road stand.



Pitching Matchups



Friday 6/12: Lester vs Blanton~ Lester comes into the game with a 5-5 record and a 5.09 ERA. He has thrown 85's strikeouts and 26 free passes in just over 74 innings. Lester has won his last two outings notching 12 & 11 strikeouts in those outings. Blanton is also pitching good of late with a 4-3 record and a 5.46 ERA. He has 58 strikeouts and 21 walks. Blanton has won 3 out of his last 4 decision. His last outing was ano decision.



Saturday 6/13: Matsuzaka vs. Bastardo~ Dice K has been shaky almost the entire season so far when he has pitched. He is 1-4 witha 7.33 ERA and has recorded 29 strikeouts and 13 walks in limited starts. He has lost his last 3 out of 4 games and allowed 10 hits in his last outing. He did however post 8 K's and 0 walks in his last start. Bastardo has been pitching great in his first two starts. He is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA with 9 strikeouts and 4 walks. He has won his first 2 major league starts.



Sunday 6/14: Beckett vs. Happ~ Josh Beckett has been pitching great as of late. He has a 7-2 record witrh a 3.77 ERA with 76 strikeouts and 32 walks. He has won his last 3 outings and notched at least 8 strikeouts in all of those starts. Happ is also pitching great. He is 4-0 with a 2.95 ERA. He has 34 K's and 18 walks. He has won his last 2 out of 3 outings with his last being a no decision.



Series Prediction: The Redsox continue to play well and have timely hitting and Lester and Beckett continue to pitch well. I see the Redsox winning 2 out of 3 against the Phillies.

I wonder if Beckett will go deep again, lol.
