Players Who Haven't Reached Their Full Potential

What players have you heard about for the last 5 years or so that were supposedly supposed to be stars, and then suddenly just are really nothing or role players.

I would have said Delmon Young going into this season, but he's going to more than likely get 100 RBI now, so not terrible.

The one that sticks in my head the most is Lastings Milledge.

He hasn't reached is potential yet, but I wouldn't lump Upton in with those other two. He's younger than both, and he's a better player than both.

I've been disappointed in Jay Bruce, but I still think he will pick it up and be a legit 30-35 homer kind of guy.

don't get me wrong, I still support them, but they've all under-performed to date even under reasonable expectations from my understanding.

I agree with what you said about Upton, it's just pitiful to see his batting average and I feel that he could be a lot more aggressive on the bases.

Upton is hitting .270, which isn't terrible, but it's not great either. At least Upton has upped his walk rate this year. He'll be fine if he lowers his strikeouts, which is probably likely considering his age. I think once Upton reaches his potential his BA will probably be around .280-.290 range.

Drew has been pretty lackluster thus far in his career, though. He showed some promise when he came up in 06.

I would have said Delmon Young prior to this season, but all along I knew it was only a matter of time before this guy was a legitimate big leaguer.
