Fan since I was 12...11 years

Note: I became a Mets fan, although already a Yankees and Cubs fan due to a stepfather, and a grandfaqther respectively. How long have you been a fan?: Since I was about 6
Favorite current Mets player?: David Wright - I had the amazing opportunity to meet him at a party in September, and he's just awesome. He plays with absolute integrity and always gives every single play 100 Percent. He is a role model, and one of those players that you just know is going to be a great player for his whole career, and is an honest player who would never do roids. I just love this guy. Amazing fielder, hitter, and face of the Mets. Favorite all time Mets player?: Mike Piazza - Although when he played I wasn't too old, I always recognized him as a Met great. He was not the nicest guy off the field (my friend used to be his neighbor and on halloween one night he chased them off of his lawn and stuff, lol), but, like Wright, played with an amazing amount of integrity and really just showed why the game of baseball was America's pastime. On my birthday, September 21st, 2001, Piazza showed to New York, America, and the terrorists that we were not just going to fade away after the horrendous attacks on our country. That was one of the most significant moments in American history, and it happened in baseball. There is just absolutely no reason not to like Piazza. He is a baseball hero, and the greatest hitter the Mets have ever had. Favorite Mets moment: As a game that I have attended, definitely Game 7 of the NLCS in 2006. Although it was a horrible ending, I witnessed one of the greatest plays of all time, Endy Chavez's catch. The electricity that was circulating in the air that night was absolutely incredible. I've never witnessed something so incredible. Besides that, probably Game 1 of the NLDS in 2006, which I also attended. It was the first playoff game that I ever attended, and some incredible plays happened, like Lo Duca getting two out at the plate. Another absolutely incredible and magnificent game. Other Comments: I have been a Mets fan my whole life, and have had a 15 game Saturday pack at Shea Stadium since 2001 with my dad, always sitting behind the plate, front row, upper deck. This year, it's going to be a huge change with Citi Field. I have both a Saturday 15 Game plan as well as a Weekday 15 Game plan, both in left field, second row, promenade box. I'm excited for the new stadium and the new additions to our team. Hopefully we can make it far. I've been to 4 games already, and my Citi Field record is 3-1. |

How long have you been a fan?: Since about 1990, when I was two years old.
Favorite current Mets player?: Johan Santana Favorite all time Mets player?: Gary Kroll (long story), Joe Pignatano (long story), or Tom Seaver Favorite Mets moment: Robin Ventura's grand slam single. I never missed a single Mets game after that. Other Comments: I have watched or listened to every single Mets game since 1999. Granted, some were taped, but I have done it. Dad was a fan of the old New York Giants from about 1952-1957, when they left New York. He tried (ironically) becoming a Philadelphia Phillies fan in the aftermath, but when they traded his favorite player on the team Richie Ashburn, he stopped following them. Naturally, when the Mets came around in 1962, well...he was pretty baseball-starved. He imparted his Mets fan-dom (which included sitting in the nosebleed seats with Mom during Game 6 of the 1986 World Series...my Dad has photos of Mookie's grounder going through Buckner's legs) to me when I was but two years old. I followed them off and on, but wasn't really a SERIOUS fan until about 1996. Then, around 1999, I started watching almost every single game, win or lose. And I've not looked back. |
