Lupe Fiasco is changing the game
Lupe Fiasco has been like none other in the rap game over the past year. He has been innovative and creative in his style of music and the topics he engages in during his writing. Some of his music has simply blown me away lately. One of the biggest tricks for my study habits, is finding that music that allows me to open my mind, relax, and focus my mind on the right thing. Finals week at college means I'm going through a lot of music.
The song 'Words I Never Said' is one that really got to me. So real and genuine unlike all the other artists in the game today, Lupe is unafraid to take on the controversial and speak what is really on his mind. He has an amazing ability to highlight the aspects of life people subconsciously think about. Although it sometimes portrays the negative side of life in the country and the world, his music is deep and is much more than just cards, money, and living the life. Anyone can relate to his music and he has brought rap back to its roots. Real, genuine lyrics, with a matching personality to defend his position on subjects that many leave untouched.
Thanks Lupe for saying what we are all feeling, and doing it in such an innovative way.
