Justin Smoak has career day.
Detroit Tigers (12-12) are back at .500 after getting beat up 10-1 by Seattle (10-15) last night.
First baseman Justin Smoak had a career-high 5 RBIs to help lead starter Erik Bedard, who pitched 7 innings, to his first victory in nearly 2 years as the Mariners clinched their three-game series against the Tigers @ Comerica Park. Seattle came to play some ball early on in both of the games this series. Their pitching staff is coming into its own. If they could just get a really good big man in their line-up they will be very dangerous. Justin Smoak is going to be very exciting to watch develop. Now I am just hoping that the Tigers do not get swept. |
