So, Puyol scored a goal against Germany to send Spain to the finals and Iniesta scored a game winning goal in the World Cup Finals to win n the Cup. Which goal was bigger in your opinion?

Well I think some of you are being a bit unfair here. Obviously a world cup final game winning goal in extra time is huge. But think about it if Puyol doesn't score and Spain isn't playing in the final. Germany IMO was the best team in the tournament up until that game.
In terms of clutchness Iniesta wins hands down but in terms of timing effort and quality Puyols goal wins.

Some of you are being a bit unfair as Conrad said. If Puyol didn't score that big goal. Germany would have had a bigger chance of winning especially in penalties. They have made 18 of their last 19 world cup penalties. And, if he didn't make that goal, Iniesta's goal wouldn't have happened.

To say Germany had a better chance of winning on penalties purely based on the fact that they have a good penalty to goal ratio is absurd. You never know what to expect from penalty shootouts (if it would even go there, there would still be 30 minutes of extra time if it was tied at the end of regulation). The fact of the matter is Puyol did score that goal and Spain won that game. They were in control the whole game and created far more opportunities. It was just a matter of time before Spain scored.

If you're going to say that Puyol's goal was more important, because otherwise Iniesta might not have been able to score the World Cup winning goal is just as absurd. If that's the case, you can take that a step back and say Villa's goal against Paraguay was more important because otherwise Puyol wouldn't have had the chance to score the goal that sent Spain to the final. And you could take it another step back... you see what I'm saying?

This question is ridiculous.
