Hughes struggles during pitching session

New York Yankees starting pitcher Phil Hughes has been put on the 15 day DL, and this all came after struggling in a pitching session where a lot would be revealed.

Phil Hughes in 2010 ended with a 18-8 record with a ERA of 4.19 with 149 strikeouts. Hughes had a phenomonal season last year, but this year he has been a dud unfortunately!

The Yankees now are in a sticky situation, they are unsure of what to do with the 24 year old right handed pitcher who did magnificent last year. After starting so cold the Yankees decided to have Hughes make some rehab starts in the minor leagues, and even then he struggled. Hughes would struggle to get his fastball above 90 MPH.

When Phil Hughes would talk about it, he said it just felt like there was nothing and his arm was dead. With that being mentioned Hughes has been put on the 15 day DL with the cause of it being right shoulder inflammation. Hughes allowed 16 runs in 10 1/3 innings pitcher over three starts.

I am hoping to see Hughes make a comeback, I really like the kid! If he can get it back to his old self, then he has a chance to make a big difference in the organization.
