Hines Ward could've been a Falcon
Sunday we're gonna be watching a HOF WR by the name of Hines Ward. And he could've been a Falcon. Ward was drafted by the Steelers way back when the Falcons owner Rankin Smith gave the keys to the franchise to Dan Reeves. Reeves was head coach/GM as we know in Atlanta after having a spat with then Giants GM George Young. Reeves gave us Michael Booker, Devin Bush the safety I think and Todd McClure. Reeves draft record in Atlanta was nothing less than dismal but the one guy he missed out, as now you can guess who that was, has been one of the greatest WRs in NFL history. Reeves and Doonta Robinson have something in common. Both guys out of How Scrool were snubbed by the college they loved most,...The University of Georgia. And both players out of How Scrool went to the USC. Doonta has let it go but Reeves never did, not drafting a single player from the UGA as Falcons GM. It's fun to look back and wonder just why Reeves was so angry at UGA, as there's plenty of hate for that football program around the country anyways, and why he never forgave them for the snub. That draft year, someone go look it up, Ward was drafted by the Steelers after the Falcons chose,...the University of Florida's,...Jammie German, a wide receiver. Remember Ward played WR/QB at UGA. He was the original SLASH and as Steelers fans know, he's thrown a few passes as a Steeler. And when Reeves picked a hybrid player, Vick, the reason he ignored Ward in the favor of German wasn't because Hines played some QB in college(actually quite a lot). It was all about Reeves contempt aimed at the UGA. So look out Falcons,...Ward may pass the ball Sunday.;) Look for it and if the Steelers offensive minds catch this post, they'll be cursing me. Just a little fun stuff I picked up from a UGA graduate, booster and smart fellow. Hope ya'll enjoyed. And sorry for the piecemeal thoughts,...my sinuses are screwed and I feel like I been sitting next to Vick while he smoked a blunt in his limo. |

Re: Hines Ward could've been a Falcon
hahaha You'd have to have been there to know. Former Falcons QB, the dog fighter,...convicted even,...was photographed in a limo with a lady, ahem, he had a blunt in his mouth and his eyes were blazing red. He had this grin on his face like he was sho nuff high. I think that was seen first in 2005. Michael Vick is now the QB for the Eagles.
Try not to take my posts as crazy please. It's fun to type these things out.:D |

Re: Hines Ward could've been a Falcon
The stories will be endless as long as I breathe. You may find some measure of an affinity to the NFL,...as long as the NFL exists.
And NOW!,...we sadly enter into politics. <sigh> NFL players, showing they solidarity as union members walked out Thursday night in Nawlins and pointed a finger. I'll try to remember to make a post about the strike season in 1982. The obvious question is,...aren't these guys making millions? What is it they want, more millions? shhhhhhhh,.....politics. |
