Garrett Wood : Mission Possible

5-foot 10, 169 pounds. Senior Year is supposed to be all about party's and blowing off my homework. But not for me, I just moved here to Mason, OH from close-town rival Lebanon. My dad recently lost his job. We live in an apartment with me my mom who owns her own business and my 4 year old brother. You might say i have it rough. But life is always rough when you play football for the Mason Comets. Number 9 is me. those are me and all the Seniors. I sat the bench last year and this year I'm taking no crap. I'm going to start varsity no matter what it takes. Do you dare follow me on my trip to become the captain of this team? I gotta fight my way through school, girls, and everything else that comes with this life I am forced to live. This is a mission I might be able to complete.

Update 1: Weight Lifting
5:00 Am, Middle of summer. Where do you think I wanna be right now? Not driving my 2004 Toyota Camry XLE to the high school that's for sure.
But that's exactly what I'm doing. Gatorade and key's in hand I slowly walk into the locker room. It's the first day and I'm running late. This means i for sure will get one of the worst lockers. The clipboard with locker numbers is sitting dead center in the middle of the room. But my name's already on it.
1124 James Whychek
1125 Nick Thomas
1126 Garrett Wood
1127 Brian Stevens

Nick. My best friend since 6th Grade. Glad he got here early. So i walked over to the defensive side of the locker room and grabbed the folding chair out of my locker.

Hey thats new...when did we pay for new shorts and weight lifting shirts?

I dunno.

I changed quickly, grabbed my Gatorade and nick and I walked into the coaches office and grabbed the corner-backs weight lifting sheet. Great 6 reps of bench. Just what a tired senior needs.

Well lets get started.

Probably a good idea.
I ended up lifitng 175 for 6 reps...not bad but i could do better. So i go to hand in my sheet.
Done already Wood?

Yes sir.

Hmm, Its another hour before conditioning is set to start. How bout you help those freshman over there?

err i forgot my...

Whats that?

Yes sir.
Shit i forgot my running shoes at the apartment, time to put in a call to the one woman in my life who would always care.
Hey, mom

Garrett, its 6 AM, what do you need?

I left my running shoes at the house.

Oh, that sounds like a tough situation. I'm going back to bed.
thanks for the help mom
Uhm coach i dont have my running shoes.

That sucks. we're running the 40's today because cheer-leading tryouts are on the track.

So what do i do?

Why dont u catch punts from Willy?
Willy was a freshman who had never punted the ball in his life. But what choice did i have?
Yes sir.
This was going to be a lonnngggg day.

I'm a little confused, how is Nick and Wolf best friends when he just moved to Mason?

Maybe I just read it wrong but either way, not a big deal.
