First Road-Ready Car Made Out of Hemp

Kestrel, is the first road-ready car to ever be created by Hemp. Hemp is the soft, durable fibre that is cultivated from plants of the Cannabis genus. This fiber helps create a car that has a strong, light, fuel-efficient body.

This car comes 70 years after Henry Ford created a car completely out of organic fiber's, which absolutely included hemp. The Kestrel is the first ever hemp-electric car, it's 3-door hatchback style boasts hemp plastic as strong as the fiberglass in boats while still being super lightweight at only 2,500 pounds. This makes the Kestrel one of the lightest, if not THE lightest on the road today.

The ability to create a car this light increases fuel efficiency by 25 - 30%. Hemp is relatively cheap and grows pretty fast so the price of Motive Industries Kestrel should be somewhere in the low $20,000's.
