Seems like this writer needed a story. Jeter would have played if it weren't for his heel. And Girardi has been trying to get his backups some playing time. While yes Jeter and Arod are both aging, they both are still very talented players. Jeter is still one of the best SS in the game. Jeter and Arod will still be playing in 3 or 4 years.
