Do you feel Abortion is right or wrong?

Today in one of my discussion courses at college, one of my classmates topics to discuss is abortion and how it is viewed in society today.

The 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision ruled in favor of the women's right to choose. How do you feel about this issue?

I feel it should be available due to unpredictable circumstances. There are millions of cases when people get pregnant and do not have the means to support a child, and refuse to give the child up for adoption. It should be the choice of the woman if they do not beleive it is the right choice to have the child born, depending on their circumstance. As much as possible though, I am against this issue as I feel every life has dignity and a chance.

What are everyone thoughts on this issue?

It all depends on the situation. Overall with someone choosing to have sexual intercourse with someone, I would then say no abortion is not the right choice since you made the decision of having sex.

On the other hand, if someone were raped and then became pregnant I would say yes it is fine. Because that child will remind you of when you get raped quite a bit when you were to look at it.

That's exactly how I feel, it should only be allowed it extreme circumstances like rape, the last thing a rape victim needs is the trauma of having the child from such an event. If an abortion were not possible this would be devastating.
