After last nights awful loss, and Verlander's first bad start since about the Cold War, were looking to rebound. Edwin Jackson always provides us an opportunity to win, we just HAVE to get that offense going against Wellmeyer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Detroit – RHP Edwin Jackson (6-3, 2.24 ERA) vs St. Louis – RHP Todd Wellemeyer (5-6, 5.50 ERA) 8:15 PM EST on FSN, @ Busch Stadium, St Louis, MO Go Tigers! |

I was a little nervous after that Molina HR, but Granderson came right back with an absolute shot of his own. We got a nice little rally going now, and hopefully can take the lead.

Wow, Curtis's 2nd HR looked like a normal old F8, but it kept on carrying. He now leads the team in dingers, and were all tied up 2-2, at Busch.

Damn, I thought this would be a sweep with JV/Jackson/Porcello pitching. Pretty much a sure thing with those guys on the mound.
Tough two outings for Verlander/Jackson. Hope Porcello can get the win. |

Alright boys, it'd be really nice to see someone other than Grandy do something....
Cap, Jackson didn't do bad at all, he could probably be more confident if he actually had some ****ing run support. None to be had this whole goddamn month. |

Rodney walks 3 guys but induces Ankiel to GIDP. Tigers win 6-3.
We're now 4 games out of 1st. |

Love the Cubs-Tigers series, I'm absolutely pumped. The matchups for the series look like this:
Carlos Zambrano (4-2, 3.44 ERA) vs Edwin Jackson (6-4, 2.39 ERA) -- 7:05 ET @ Comerica Park Rich Harden (4-3, 5.27 ERA) vs Rick Porcello (8-4, 3.54 ERA) -- 7:05 ET @ Comerica Park Ted Lilly (7-4, 3.04 ERA) vs Armando Galarraga (3-7, 5.62 ERA) -- 1:05 ET @ Comerica Park |

He just lacks pure stuff, and hitters are starting to figure him out. Last year, it was his first trip around the league and he had success with his placement and excellent control. This year he doesn't have that, and paired with his limited "stuff", it's not making for good outings. These days, it seems like an almost guaranteed loss with Armando on the mound.

Jackson pitched very strong as usual and is in position to get another win. He was lucky to get out of that jam with only 1 run in the first inning, and then we came right back at the bottom of the inning and tied it back up. It's been a pitchers duel, just like I suspected.
Now we just took the lead off yet another Inge long ball, and that puts him at 49 RBI's for the year. So incredible the difference in his hitting this year. |

Porcello didn't have his best stuff today, and he can't cant get the win, but there is nothing to complain about with him only letting one run.
