I gotta say Rich Harden is making $7 mil and can barely pitch 5 or 6 innings.
Not surprised to see him gone early. |

That's how some Sox fans are, they'd rather watch the Cubs lose than the Sox win... |

Tigers with the 6-4 lead in the 7th innning stretch. Let's hold on boys! Get Galarraga his first win since April!
BTW, Magglio hit a 2 run HR in the 4th today. Great to see him finally get the bat swinging, and hopefully he can get hot here. |

Boy, Rodney sure does love to keep things interesting. But, hey he's been getting the job done and is now 16-16 with save opportunities. That's a hell of a lot better than Todd "Roller Coaster" Jones. That being said, I still would like to see him work ahead more often, otherwise he's going to be losing that streak sooner or later.
So that's now 7 straight, and our second sweep of a good NL Central team! Lets keep the streak rolling, were now 10 games over .500 going to Houston! |

Why don't you guys use Brandon Lyon for closer?

Um, because he's been a closer before?
Fernando Rodney is a set-up guy. |

Lyon has had issues on the bump all year, and hes finally settling in nicely in a setup role. Meanwhile, Rodney has been 16-16 for save opportunites and actually showing a bit of control this year. Why shake things up, if they're working?

Very good win, I would have been upset if we got swept by the 'Stros after winning 7 straight. Inge was the hero, but Jackson pitched another fine game, just didn't have the offense backing him up when he needed it.

Totally didn't expect a pitching duel today, but you never know in the MLB. Both these guys have pitched solid after having some underachieving years so far. But to be fair, Meche could have given up 5 or 6 runs by now. Detroit has failed to capitalize every time they've had someone on base, and has actually fared pretty well against him so far.
Both runs have been off solo shots to left field (Thames - DET, Bloomquist - KC) and its 1-1 at the 6th inning stretch. |

Galarraga gives us an increasingly rare GREAT outing, and this is what the bullpen does. ****ing A, I can't believe we're about to lose this game. Make something magical happen in the Bottom of the 9th boys...

first next then then finally WoW you actually think Lyon is bad?? Sure he had a rough start to the year, but he has been on top of his game as of late, lowered the era below 4 now |

I have no problem of admitting that, i was never a big fan of zumaya. everyone fell in love with him just because he could ****ing throw hard. Big deal if you give up runs throwing hard does nothing, he needs to be moved soon. |

Well, Clete Thomas is really pushing for the full time spot in RF. Magglio is going to have to be moved if Clete continues hitting the ball like he is.
