I have 1,682 different players and over 1,750 autographs in general. I am a VERY hardcore collector.

Bob Saverine 1/1 c/o home. Bob was a very talented Baltimore Orioles prospect who sadly didn't amount to much in the Majors (in part due to the Orioles making him swing at everything because they deemed him too cautious a hitter). Bob's contemporaries called one of the finest fielders they ever saw, as well. Thank you for the autograph, Mr. Saverine!

-Bob Flynn 1/1 c/o home. Mr. Flynn signed a rare 1960's J.D. McCarthy Photo Postcard. Unfortunately, my scanner did a pretty lousy job of scanning it.

-I also got a complete 1978 TCMA Charleston Pirates team set off eBay. I scanned my favorite, the guy I bought the set to get: Billy Scripture.

Dalkowski, where do you get their addresses?

The Major Leaguers I get from Harvey Meiselmann's 2009 Autograph Guide (which you can buy by googling "Meiselmann autograph guide"). The Minor Leaguers I quite literally look up on whitepages.com and send only when I'm absolutely sure it's them (thus far I've been wrong once...can you believe that there are two people named Al Fantuzzi born the same month and year with the same middle initial? The wrong Mr. Fantuzzi was actually quite nice about it and told me he'd gotten mail before intended for the other Al Fantuzzi, but had no idea where he lived; he said he'd been in NJ in the 1990's, but that was it).

I got Joel Zumaya autograph on a Major League baseball. Do you think that was a good ballplayer to get?

Very good! But...you got Zumaya through the mail? Seriously? He's notorious for NOT signing through the mail and only signing in-person. If you got him TTM, congratulations! That's really tough!

He was really nice. I also got Jim Johnson from the Orioles that night.

Can you just specify how you get an auto in the future then unless it's TTM? This is the "Daily TTM Return Thread" and I'm assuming every autograph here is gotten TTM unless stated otherwise. Still, very cool autographs!

Oh, I am sorry. I would love to get autographs through the mail, but I have never tried that.

Oh, it's fine. Just say how you got the auto in the future. If you want some good tips on how to do TTM autos, there are some pretty good ones in this thread...

I aslo have a mailing question. How much does it cost to ship a baseball to get signed and then returned? Also is the return rate good even if they don't sign the ball?

I can't remember off the top of my head how much it costs to ship a ball...I've never done it. However, you should only do it with guys you're absolutely sure will sign (you can check with me about that since I'm a Premium Member of SCN, which reports all the successes).

-Steve Dalkowski signed PRESS PHOTO (PSA/DNA and JSA Certified). The whole reason I got this was not because of the autograph (I can get Steve to sign stuff basically any time I want), but because of the photo itself! Incredibly, it has the exact time and date the photo was taken on the back! One wonders who'd bother getting a press photo signed!
