Long story (and one that my editor does not fully wish me to share, since it will be in my book's introduction)...although I can say there's so much misinformation and bad information about him out there that someone had to do it.[/quote]

Makes sense. Good luck with the book.

Received the Steve Dalkowski Autographed card today from Dalkowski110. I am scanning it now and hopefully I can get the image up here asap. I have never scanned anything before so it may not work. I am also scanning the little note he sent along with it minus his last name which I scratched out.

Dalkowski110, I see that the card is a circa 2009. Do they have a set out of old timers or something? Also Steve had an impressive record of 46-80 and an impressive strikeout to walk ratio (1396 K's and 1354 BB's). He also only surrendered 682 hits in 995 innings. He either struck out everyone or walked them.

Olivia, I designed that card and had it printed by Topps. I also wrote the caption and put down the stats. Seriously. You can design and print your own cards at Toppsonlinestore.com. It's designated "S2" because it's the second design of Steve Dalkowski I had printed there. Kinda. I had two designs...S1 based on 2008 Topps and S1A based on 1959 Topps...that I had printed on there last year.

"You sent her a card?"

If you want an autograph of Steve, I could get you one. I stand to make no money off these directly. I just want to make Steve better known. And ultimately give people a sort of "pilot" for my book.

"and WOW you buy a lot of cards off ebay."

That's coming to an end this month. I spent the last of the 50% of the money Dad gave me that he saved for college. I got a scholarship, so the money was moot. I was allowed to spend 50% and had to put 50% in the bank. The 50% I spent built most of my collection.

I'm 20, actually. I turn 21 on November 1.

"Do you know this guy?"

Who, Steve? Yeah, I know him. I've interviewed him on the record three times for the book. He'll sign anything for me (though I won't be seeing him for a while now...I may just send him four or five cards to sign).

"sure I'll take one, thanks."

Okay, give me a few months. I'm moving this month...not a good time...but within the next two or three months, I'll get something for ya.
