I admit there is some bias but Mike Lange (penguins announcer) is great!! He is so exciting. He makes it feel like ur at the game

Gary, Keith, and Ron. Right behind Scully.

Mav Albert for me as well.

Gus Johnson, by a million miles. He brings so much energy into his broadcasts. He was crazy during UCLA - Gonzaga a couple of years back.

Jeff Van Gundy by far.

The guy had an extreme passion for the game more than any announcer in all of sports


Every home run he had the same call, and made Michael Jack Schmidt more famous than just Michael Schmidt

I like John Madden, Charles Barkley, and Marv Albert.

To me, as a Lakers fan and only being able to watch them on special occasions. I must say Mark Jackson because you gotta love the way he talks when every time there is a highlight. ''Momma there goes that man, hand down, man down, take him to the streets, and also let em' fly.'' Its just really entertaining and interesting on how a sports announcer like how Mark Jackson can do that. I love it.

Uhhh....none of those guys do Sportscenter. Hell, one of those guys is dead and the others don't even work for ESPN.

Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstriet are as good as it ****ing gets for Saturday Night college football. I also love having Brad Nessler call college games. I'm one of the few people who actually likes Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. I also like Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth.

I ****ing hate Gus Johnson and his "I'm gonna yell and scream like a 16 year old girl for the next three hours" announcing style. Dude, dial it back and shut the **** up and call the game like a professional.

alleniverson#1fan please tell me u did not say john madden. PLEASE! He does have a good history and his voice is hard to go without, but if he annouces games, instead of analyzing them, he points out the most obvious crap and goes on and on

I thought Madden was WAY better with Al Michaels than he was with Pat Summerall.

For me the best sport announcer is George Eddy, that no one else knows about on that forum obviously, as he is a basketball commentator on French TV. He is American though, was born and raised in Orlando, even if he has now the French citizenship. This dude has a huge knowledge of basketball (he grew up watching Russell and Chamberlain play) and I learned all about the history of basketball first thanks to him. He's in France for 33 years now. At first he was a player in the French basketball league and then became journalist in 1985. He's also a fantastic shooter as you can see for yourself on that video :
