The news from the Mariners today on Erik Bedard is not good. He'll fly to New York next week and meet with specialist Dr. David Altchek to get a third opinion on his sore shoulder.

It's getting less and less likely that Bedard will throw a pitch this season. He's had two surgeries already and is still not feeling right.

He has already sought the opinions of Dr. Lewis Yocum and D. Edward Khalfayan. Once he gets an opinion he can live with, he'll still have to pursue treatment and then get the arm strong enough to pitch again. There are just over nine weeks left in the season.

You do the math. Not looking good.

he's been such a disappointment for them. that whole team has just been a huge failure this season. I actually thought they'd win the division this year. boy, was I dead wrong lol.

Yup, every offseason I get excited for the Mariners season and every year they seem to let me down.

I remember when he was supposed to be back in May. Then he was supposed to be back at the All Star Break. It's a shame Bedard is always hurt, too. He is a damn good pitcher when healthy.

I bet when Seattle gets rid of him, he'll win the Cy Young. Every player that leaves Seattle suddenly turns ****ing amazing when they're on a another team. Ryan Franklin is one of the best closers in the NL. Ibaunez is a ****ing badass now. Beltre made the All-Star team. The suckiness of the Mariners permeates their entire roster and makes it impossible for anyone but Ichiro and Felix to blossom.
