What did you wear?

I played travel ball back in 4th grade, wanted the number two for my favorite player DJ. It was taken and I decided to get the newest Yankees number, of 55, after Hideki Matsui. Last year as a freshman I got the number 28 because it really was one of the only cool one's left, and this year it was taken by a junior so I got 27. Joe Girardi

The reason I wore 42. I never picked first, and somebody else always wanted 24. Thus, 42.

Thumbs down

I wore number 5 every year for several years, then 13 for a year, then 9 and lastly 7.

Last year I wore 30, and I wanted to wear it again this year, but it was taken, so I just went with 52.

From 9 to 15 all through little league to Babe Ruth. Then 16 freshman year, 18 soph year. I'm probably going to be 4 next year.

Well, during city league play, the only numbers that were available were from like 1-16, so my number varied each year, but I would chose around like a #8 or something, but I didn't really have a consistent number.

But when I got selected to the league all-stars, I picked #22 each and every year. That's my number. =]

Til I was 13, I would always wear number 8 for my boy Ripken. Then for the next 6 years it became 16 for my high school/legion/teener teams and 25 for my AAU team

In Little League and Babe Ruth League, I was number 41, both times because it was Steve Dalkowski's jersey number on the 1961 40-man roster. I later learned that Steve wore 61 when he almost made the Majors, but also that 41 was his favorite number in the Minors. I thought that was awesome.

In High School I wore 11.

I'm in a slow pitch softball league and wear 0. I must say softball is harder then baseball. I played OF in HS and I play OF in this softball league and catching the ball is harder in softball.

I've had to few liners hit at me that would have been routine if it was baseball, but it being a softball, the thing moved like a knuckle ball.
