How long have you been a fan?: Since 1991, when I was eight years old. I got lucky, and I understand how lucky I am.
Favorite current Braves player?: Chipper Jones or Brian McCann on the batting side, Javier Vazquez and Jair Jurrjens on the pitching side. Favorite all time Braves player?: Even though I never saw him play, Dale Murphy Favorite Braves moment: Sid's Slide, Game 7, 1992 NLCS Other Comments: To the 2009 Braves: Put it all together and have a season we can be proud of. |

Always watched them as a child but I guess the key point where I was hooked was 1992 Favorite current Braves player?: McCann, Chipper, and Jair Jurrjens Favorite all time Braves player?: David Justice for sentimental reason that he was my first favorite player. Favorite Braves moment: Francisco Cabrera single with 2 outs in the 9th in game 7 of the 1992 NLCS, it forever sealed my love for the game of baseball. |

How long have you been a fan?:Pretty much since I started watching Baseball . I lived in Florida in the 70's .. Braves were the closest team and they were on Channel 17 WTBS on cable so we could see every game.. Then I moved to Atlanta in the mid 80's..
Favorite current Braves player?: Chipper .. he's the last true superstar on the team .. I cant wait to see which of the younger players will be our key player when he's gone .. Probably McCann .. Favorite all time Braves player?:Terry Pendleton .. I've always been a big TP fan .. I thoght he was a good third basemen in St Louis .. and I was very excited when the braves signed him .. I know he's not a hall of famer or anything . He did win a batting title and an MVP in Atlanta .. He was snubbed from the Allstar team in 1991 , and went on to win MVP and comeback player of the year that year .. .. But he's been my favorite player since he played here .. Was Dale Murphy before TP showed up .. Favorite Braves moment: 1991 NLCS Game 7 in Pittsburgh .. Braves were the worst team in the league the year before .. We were in 4th place in the Division at the all star break in 91 .. John Smoltz was 2 - 11 at the allstar break .. We went on a historic tear combined with a hilarious collapse by the Dodgers .. We had been picked by nobody to win the NL West .. but we did .. Smoltz finished the season out at 12 - 2 So here we are in Pittsburgh .. Facing the reigning league MVP and the rest of the Killer B's .. Game 7 .. and Smoltz pitches a complete game shutout to send us to the world series for the first time in my lifetime .. We lost the WS to the twins that year ... Smoltz also had an epic game against Jack Morris . Morris went on to pitch 10 shutout innings for the win and the history books .. but that victory by smoltz and the beginning of the Braves 14 straight run is my favorite moment.. Other Comments: Go Braves !!! |

I live 2 hours north of Atlanta at the TN line and 17 was TBS here as well. Thats a weird coincidence. |

If you had cable in the 70's .. you would have had .. WTBS Atlanta .. WGN Chicago .. and WOR New York .. Braves, Cubbies, Mets ... Plenty of baseball on basic cable back then .. It was the easiest sport to follow back then because of those three channels being on cable..
