Alexander Semin seals win for Washington

Alexander Semin of the Washington Capitals would help the Capitals win in game one of the series against the New York Rangers.

Game one of the New York Rangers against the Washington Capitals was nothing less of a goaltending performance. In the first two periods, there would be multiple penalties but neither the Rangers or the Capitals would capitalize on their power play opportunities. It’s not to say that the goaltending was short of greatness, Henrik Lundqvist is known for being a good goaltender for the Rangers. On the other hand, the Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth played great considering the Capitals are in a sticky position when it comes to goaltenders.

The game winning goal would come in overtime from Alexander Semin when he would put the puck past Henrik Lundqvist to help the Washington Capitals take game one of the series. Game two will be played Friday, April 15 at 7:30 PM Eastern time.
