13 Players arrested in Poland Scandal

Charged with fixing a match back in 2006, 13 players from Poland and a middleman have been cited for the fix with an equivalent of around $37,000. The fix also allowed the Poland team to earn a spot in the UEFA Cup.

The game in question resulted in a 0-0 tie that gave the team a berth in 2005-06 UEFA Cup.

This just shows that sports all over th world have the same problem, the fixing and gambling on games. With certain sports control, largely given to the referees, a game can be changed drastically. It happened with Tim Donahue in the NBA and it happened all the time. People should open their eyes and realize it is not smart to bet on things like sports because the game can be effected internally to a great degree.
